Parent Pathways:
Parent Pathways is a flexible, voluntary initiative designed to offer personal and financial assistance to eligible parents and carers of young children, helping them balance the demands of parenting with their educational and employment aspirations.
Djerriwarrh’s Key Commitments for Parent Pathways:

- We will provide resources and financial support to help you reach your goals.
Eligibility for Parent Pathways: You may qualify for the Parent Pathways program if you:
- Have a child under the age of 6 AND
- Are currently unemployed AND
- Reside in an area covered by Parent Pathways
Additionally, you must meet one of the following payment criteria provided by Services Australia/Centrelink:
- Parenting Payment OR
- Carer Payment OR
- Special Benefit
If you do not receive one of these payments, you might still be eligible if you:
- Are under 22 years old OR
- Did not complete Year 12 or obtain a Year 12 qualification OR
- Are a First Nations parent or carer
Skills for Education and Employment (SEE):
The Australian Government’s Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program offers FREE training in reading, writing, English language, maths and digital skills.
About Djerriwarrh’s SEE program:
- It’s for both speakers of English as a second language and native English speakers.
- You can build confidence, make friends and engage with your community.
- We offer a supportive adult learning environment.
- SEE may fulfill a Mutual Obligation you have from Services Australia.
- We have qualified specialist trainers and small class sizes.
- Work experience can be a part of SEE and you can still look for work while doing SEE.
- SEE can help you create a pathway to work or help you go further in your current job.
- SEE can help you be more confident to do further study.
- SEE can be tailored for a workplace and the people who are already working there.
- SEE can help you with everyday tasks like filling in forms and reading to your child.
For Employers, Industry Associations and Unions
Djerriwarrh’s SEE Program also provides the opportunity for employers, industry associations and unions to participate in the program to improve the skills of employees through workplace-based training.
