802 Sturt St, Ballarat,
Victoria, 3350, Australia
The Turret is one of Ballarat’s most iconic and historically designed buildings.
Built in 1894-95 its heritage listed for its unique design; a combination of the English Queen Anne revival with both Gothic and Tudor elements including castellated bays, lancet windows, and a projecting Oriel Turret
This long-standing café has recently been taken over by locals LeRoy and Belinda with a vision to bring fresh life back into this beautiful building.
Interestingly LeRoy is no stranger to the Turret having been an apprentice Chef at the venue over 23 years ago and again working as a business consultant at the venue for the previous owners.
The couple plans to retain the original features and highlight the buildings beautiful heritage during restorations early 2023 with which the venue will see the addition of a specialised takeaway area, increased dining space and exclusive dinner events.
The new menu consists of all day breakfast options, unique but familiar lunches and of course the couple’s signature Toastie range made famous at their other venue The Orchard Café Lucas.
The Turret Café also offers both Private and Corporate catering as well as grazing boxes suitable for every event.
So, if you’re looking for a great dining experience within a beautiful venue, we strongly recommend a visit to the new, fully licensed Turret Cafe.
